I’ve returned from a wonderful three day trip to the Disneyland Resort, and have plenty of photos to share from a wealth of happenings around the Resort. Let’s get to it:

The “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” car is back out in the Esplanade

Also, there are new banners explaining the contest replacing a couple of the regular “Celebrate Today!” banners

The snowflake structures that debuted last year are up on the Disneyland turnstiles

My first stop on Friday was to check out Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee

Here are some pictures from the show

After the show starts off with “Down in New Orleans” and “Gonna Take You There”, Tiana sings her song, “Almost There”

Louis the Alligator then dreams to be human with his performance of “When We’re Human”

As you can see, there’s not much to the props in this show, but they’re effective nonetheless

Then, the film’s villain, Dr. Facilier, barges in and takes over with “Friends on the Other Side”

I love what the performers do here

Dreams do come true in New Orleans, and Dr. Facilier leaves while the cast gets ready to “Dig a Little Deeper”

The show ends with a customary blast of confetti

The Mark Twain then goes rolling down the bayou, where the guests on board get to meet with Tiana, Naveen, Louis, and even some of the performers

And just as Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee ends, the Sailing Ship Columbia is already loaded with guests

Pixie Hollow is celebrating the Fall Revelry from “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure”. We’ll take a complete look at the new decorations a little later in the photo report

As part of Disney’s on-going efforts to prevent the spread of the flu, hand sanitizer stations have been installed at the entrances to both parks and at meet ‘n greet locations such as Pixie Hollow and the Princess Fantasy Faire. You can read more about this new initiative on the Disney Parks Blog

Most of the holiday decorations are up on Sleeping Beauty Castle, but the lights won’t be turning on until Friday

None of the banners were up, leaving just plain posts

Now on to Saturday

This weekend was the only weekend that it made sense to have this poster up

Main Street was full of equipment for the filming of the Disney Parks Christmas Special

People were lining up to see the filming of 300 cheerleaders going down Main Street USA at 11:00am

The lighting towers I mentioned earlier in the report uncovered

The stage in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle being set up for Sunday’s performances

Now back to Pixie Hollow for a more in-depth look at the new Fall decorations

There were various meet locations throughout the park for the groups performing in the Disney Parks Christmas Special

One of the locations was next to the Toontown Train Station

For some unknown reason, The Enchanted Cottage at the Princess Fantasy Faire has been completely re-built. That’s not a bad thing though, because it looks a lot nicer now

It’s still sad seeing nothing going on at the Fantasyland Theater itself

Now for a look at the holiday decorations in Frontierland

I like the very woodsy feeling that the holiday garland and wreaths have in Frontierland

And now a look at New Orleans Square’s holiday decorations

The Royal Street Veranda has re-opened

It’s a Small World is getting ready to re-open this Friday with its annual holiday overlay

With It’s a Small World closed, this area of the park is a dead-zone until parade time

Speaking of parade time, here are a few pictures of “Celebrate! A Street Party”, which has its final performance (either for the year, or forever) this Thursday

This was released quite a while ago, but with that price tag, I’m not surprised that it’s still around

It’s a little hard to make out, but here’s the new tower (or whatever it’s supposed to be) that was installed in Paradise Park earlier this week

And finally, now on to Sunday… Construction on the new stroller rental center

Likely due to the planned filming in the area, Pirates of the Caribbean opened at 11:00am

Signs were up directing guests to Tomorrowland and Fantasyland…

And Adventureland and Frontierland

The film crew were preparing to film Stevie Wonder in front of the Castle at 1:30pm

The Matterhorn Bobsleds were closed for at least an hour Sunday afternoon

By 1:00pm, the line to be part of the Christmas Special crowd was all the way back to Alice in Wonderland

The performance actually didn’t happen until around 3:00pm

Meanwhile over in New Orleans Square, some performers from Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee and plenty of guests were on board the Mark Twain Riverboat to tape a segment for the Disney Parks Christmas Special

Some technical problems, and even birds flying in front of the camera, caused the taping to run longer than expected, and so a performance of Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee was canceled

A lot of New Orleans Square was blocked off for this filming

Construction walls are still up at the French Market

But the new entrance has been unveiled however

A sign directing guests around the film crew to Haunted Mansion Holiday, Splash Mountain, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

A sight you certainly don’t see every day are show performers walking through the park in costume with their personal belongings

They were very slowly unloading the kids off the Mark Twain
