Yesterday was a great day to be at the Disneyland Resort, despite it being a little crowded. Here is my latest photo report:

Does this cash register counter in the Little Green Men Store Command look familiar? It should, as it’s the doors of the PeopleMover.
I rode the Astro Orbitor for the first time since I moved out to California. Here’s a little tour of the attraction which may soon be changed or removed completely.
You get some great views from the Astro Orbitor…
… The views would be even better if they were up on top of the PeopleMover station!
And with that, we leave the Astro Orbitor.
For some reason, the Tomorrowland Terrace stage isn’t lowering at the moment.

And speaking of the Matterhorn, it recently re-opened from a short refurbishment.
However, only Track B is operating at the moment, which created a long line.
Now for a few Small World exterior shots.

There’s no such thing as a bad Castle/Matterhorn shot.

And now for a look at Celebration Round-up and Barbecue at Big Thunder Ranch construction.
The petting zoo has re-opened.

Soon to be the new home for The Disney Gallery.
Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years closes March 15th and re-opens later this year as The Disneyland Story, Featuring Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln.

This entrance to World of Disney of was recently repainted.
Club Libby Lu is now closed.
All exterior references to Department 56 have been removed.
Interior logos do remain however.
Illuminations closes at the end of April.
Everything in the store is 25-50% off.
Also closed is Starabillas.
You can easily tell where the sign was once.
And now here’s something we don’t usually do… An update of stuff going on at the hotels.
“Celebrate Today!” has been added to the Sorcerer’s Hat at the Disneyland Hotel.
Croc’s Bits and Bites is currently closed for refurbishment.
They’re testing new rooms and color designs at the Dreams tower.
You can also “Celebrate Today!” at the Paradise Pier Hotel.
Now for a look at the Grand Californian Disney Vacation Club villas.
By far the best decoration I’ve seen come out of this year’s campaign.
Now for a look at mega-construction in DCA.

Pacific Wharf bridge.
No obvious changes to Mickey’s Fun Wheel.
They’ve rounded off the edges of the ex-Mickey head either to temporarily make it look better, or to prepare it for the new sunburst.
Paradise Pier was extremely busy yesterday. Definitely the busiest I’ve ever seen it!
Walls up by the Orange Stinger to block really close construction in the lagoon.
The wait for the Orange Stinger was enormous (by its standards)! Must of been 20-30 minutes.

All that remains to be painted is the back white supports (they’ll be painted black).
The Games of the Boardwalk facades have been revealed. They look absolutely beautiful!

The line for Toy Story Midway Mania was actually quite manageable, only about 30-40 minutes.

The extended queue for Toy Story Midway Mania not being used. They have been randomly walled of behind construction walls recently. No clue why.
As King Triton’s Carousel of the Sea is closing soon to get a make-0ver, here’s a quick tour of the attraction as it is today.
The actual Carousel itself is quite detailed.
Logos from various famous (or not-so-famous) California piers and amusement parks line the edge of the Carousel.
The covering is one of the things that doesn’t look too good about the Carousel.
The oddly placed organ.
The restroom area is ugly however.
2 new signs and a new lenticular panel join the Crush lenticular panel along the Paradise Pier bridge.
The Pocahontas scene is the new lenticular panel.
Work on the new home for Concina Cucamonga.
The Pacific Wharf bridge is still closed.
They set up a path to travel down, and a path to travel up the bridge.
“You Are Here” maps now adorn the Pacific Wharf construction walls.
Aw, whatever happened to Golden State and More!?
The Bolt Pre-Parade now runs in front of the Pixar Play Parade.
Now here are some shots from the Pixar Play Parade.
“Play, play, it’s the Play Parade!”

The A Bug’s Life float has some great detail to it.

These cow guys and gals perform some great acrobats.
Soarin’ Over California had a long wait too, about 55 minutes.
I’ve never heard of Lilo parking before.
New signs themed to the “What Will You Celebrate?” promotion at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure.
